The Battery Modeling Group

Massachusetts Institute of Technology
University of Michigan

We are a Focused Research Group, spanning applied mathematics, chemical engineering, and materials science at MIT and the University of Michigan. Our goal is to develop a predictive modeling framework for the next generation of Li-ion rechargeable batteries.

Welcome to The Battery Modeling Group website. The Battery Modeling Group is a focused research group sponsored by the NSF. We develop models for Li-Ion batteries in an effort to better understand the processes involved in the charging and discharging of batteries. By better understanding these processes, we hope to identify rate-limiting processes and parameters, which can be tuned to increase battery performance.

Thanks for visiting and check the site often for updates on the progress of our research.
