Cristina Grosu

Cristina joint the Bazant group in April 2023 as a postdoctoral associate. She joins the group after spending a year at RLE where she investigated the charge transfer kinetics at the solid electrolyte interface of carbon-based materials under the supervision of Prof. Yang Shao-Horn. She received her Ph.D. in 2022 in Theoretical Chemistry, from the Technical University of Munich, while sharing the position with the Spectroscopy group, from the Research Center Juelich. During her PhD she worked on combining experiments and theory through advanced Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Multiscale Modeling, for graphite-based anode materials.
She holds her master’s in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Bologna, Italy. During her free time, she practices different sports in particular martial arts, with a black belt in Judo.
