Ethan Abraham

Graduate Student
ethana@mit.edu

Ethan is pursuing his Ph.D. in Chemistry and joined the Bazant group in January 2025. He received his BA and MS in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2024. As an undergraduate, Ethan performed research under the guidance of Prof. Abraham Nitzan on the implications of molecular chirality in the thermal nuclear motion of molecules. He is interested in quantum dynamics, statistical mechanics, and computer simulation of chemical systems. Now, co-advised by Prof. Bazant and Prof. Troy Van Voorhis, Ethan’s current research focuses on the theoretical prediction electrochemical reaction rates, and he intends to use insights gained from this research to inform the search for better battery and energy storage materials. His hobbies include ice hockey, reading, and skiing.
