Matthew Moy is pursuing his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and joined the Bazant group in January 2024. He received his B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in 2023 from the University of California, Berkeley, and is an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. As an undergraduate, Matthew worked on characterizing electrochemical transport properties in polymer electrolytes under Professor Nitash Balsara. He also worked on observing and analyzing ion migration in a Mg cathode material with MIT Professor James LeBeau. Matthew is generally interested in transport phenomena and physical electrochemistry. His current research focuses on modeling electrochemical systems. In his free time, he enjoys learning new board games, hiking, playing piano, and trying diverse cuisines.
