Shakul Pathak

Shakul Pathak is pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and joined the Bazant Group in January 2022. He completed his Bachelor & Master of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur in 2021. During his undergrad, he found opportunities to work in a diverse range of research topics including statistical mechanics of biological systems, molecular simulations of droplets and physics informed neural networks. He completed his master's thesis with Prof. Sunando DasGupta wherein he explored electrowetting actuation at the nanoscale. He is currently studying cathode microstructures and ion electron transfer to improve electrode models in batteries.

Additionally, Shakul is interested in several topics in mathematics that include complex analysis, number theory, geometry and calculus. He maintains a blog to register interesting problems.
